Since
most people prefer an East-West route because of the gentler grade one
must take an 8 hour bus ride to Midway B.C.
Take the bus which will
arrive in the afternoon to give enough time to
re-assemble your bike which you had sent by Greyhound Courier
two days prior to
your ride.There is a first class motel,small cafe-restaurant and a
convenience store all within a few hundred feet of one another on the
main highway. After a good nights sleep you are ready to go by 9 AM next
morning.
Midway
to Beaverdell is about 41 miles. There is some disputed right of way and
many barrier gates through farms and pastureland, some of which are
locked. It takes about 6 hours of easy riding.
There are campgrounds and motels in Beaverdell but there is plenty of
space around to pitch a tent.
One can go from Beaverdell to McCulloch Lake on about 2 liters of water
even on a hot sunny day.The distance is around 33 miles.Enjoy a nice
lunch on the McCulloch Lake Resort balcony and then try for Shute Lake
Resort...camping and cabins... which is another 28 miles and passes
through beautiful Myra Canyon.
